Course content:

• Reframing risk perceptions
• Key principles of positive risk-taking
• The risks of not taking risks
• Legal frameworks underpinning positive risk taking
• What does positive risk taking look like and entail? Developing a Positive Risk-Taking Mindset
• The Positive risk-taking Toolbox  – a range of person-centred and strength-based and tools and techniques to support people in weighing up benefits and harms and planning for positive outcomes

The day will include a variety of interactive training exercises with plenty of opportunities for discussion in pairs and groups to explore and develop your understanding and practice and learn new skills

You will go away with practical tools and good practice resources to help further embed your learning

Learning Outcomes:

• Outline key principles of a positive risk-taking and risk enabling approach
• Explain  the legal frameworks underpinning positive risk-taking
• Increase your  skills in collaborating with the people you work with to take risks for positive outcomes and with the use of strengths-based tools.
• Reflect on how you  can develop your practice and a positive risk-taking mindset
