Recovery-based Support
Course Content:
- “Recovery” – context, development and journey of the word and the spirit
- Challenging stigma and social injustice
- The power of language
- The CHIME Framework and promoting wellbeing, resilience, social connection and peer support
- What does recovery-based support and planning look like?
- Strength-based and solution-focused approaches and tools
- A facilitating and learning approach. Learning from recovery college approaches
The day will include a variety of interactive training exercises with plenty of opportunities for discussion in pairs and groups to explore and develop your understanding and practice and learn new skills.
Learning Outcomes:
- Outline the key values and principles underpinning recovery-based thinking and approaches
- Identify key contributing factors to recovery
- Describe how to collaborate with people in strength-based and solution-focused ways to achieve their recovery goals and manage their wellbeing
- Evaluate the key role of a learning approach to recovery-based support
- Reflect on and reframe elements of your practice in recovery-focused ways
Please note this course can be customised to meet the specific focus of your service/ organisation.
Whilst recovery-based support tends to be associated more with mental health provision it is encouraging that a recovery focus is increasingly being adopted across a wide range of client groups.
